Simpson Hybrid S 3-Point Head and Neck Restraint
The Hybrid S Head Restraint is FIA and SFI approved (when worn with a multi-point harness system) and is tested and shown to be compatible with 3-point harnesses used by Car Club enthusiasts and High Performance Driving Experiences. This allows Driving Instructors, Auto Manufacturing Test Engineers, and others in cars with 3-point harnesses to have added protection.
We are pleased to offer this great option for increased protection to this sector of the market. Bear in mind, however, that on a racetrack the best protection we believe is a Full-Containment Cockpit System that includes a full containment seat, Snell SA2015 or FIA 8860 rated helmet, FIA or SFI approved head restraint, and 6- or 7-point racing harness system.

Simpson Hybrid S Head and Neck Restraint Installation:
To use a Hybrid S with a 3-point seat belt system, the SAS (Seatbelt Anchoring System) is not used. (The SAS strap anchor loops hook into the buckle of a 5-, 6- or 7-point racing harness.)
Have the wearer put on the Hybrid S and get into the driver's seat. Follow the instructions on fitting the device to the wearer.
Engage the 3-point seat belt and sit in the normal driving position.
Have a helper apply gentle pressure to the top of the device, keeping the device stable during tether adjustment. The device should be in a comfortable position behind the driver’s back, against the seat cushion.
With the helper holding the device and the driver looking straight forward, hold the triangulated tether up to the anchors on the driver’s helmet. Adjust the side tethers so that the end fitting can be easily inserted into the helmet anchor without pulling down on the helmet. A comfortable adjustment on the side tether is to have about ¼” of slack in the tethers.
With the helper still holding the device down and the driver looking straight ahead, adjust the rear tethers so that there is ½” to 1” of slack. Test the amount of head movement by moving the head straight forward. The driver should have 1” to 2” of forward head movement before the slack is taken out of the tether. Remember when checking this not to rotate the head down; translate it straight forward. This should allow for plenty of head movement on track.
Airbag Use with the Simpson Hybrid S Head and Neck Restraint:
No one should unhook or disable the airbag system installed by the auto manufacturer or their authorized installer. Outside experts in Detroit have confirmed this and require their test engineers to use the Hybrid S in conjunction with the airbag in a 3-point system. Simpson agrees that the airbag and Hybrid S work together to increase protection in frontal crashes.

M6 HANS Anchors for the Arai GP-7 Helmet
Drivers of all skill levels will appreciate the integrated, pre-installed M6 threaded washer/nut with 6mm threads which accepts a range of Head and Neck Restraint devices. A flat surface area around the mounting nut will let the anchor post base to rest flush along the surface of the helmet and around the full perimeter of the anchor base. The Sparco Sky RF-7W has a carbon fiber outer shell reinforced with layers of carbon-kevlar composite. The RF-7W Carbon includes a wider eye opening making it ideal for both open-wheel and closed-cockpit racing. Multiple exterior vents increase air circulation throughout a redesigned interior. Integrated channels not only direct cool air onto the driver's head, some also route air towards the visor reducing the chance of fogging. The Sparco Sky RF-7W Carbon has removable, washable interior padding that's easy to reposition for a customized, comfortable fit. All interior seams have been removed from areas where pressure is exerted on the head.

Start at a point about an inch above your eyebrows, looping around the back of your head at the point that results in the largest measurement, and finally around to the front again. It's a good idea to take two or three measurements to make sure you have the largest one.

Sparco Air Pro RF-5W: Retro Inspired From 1977
The Air Pro RF-5W 1977 is a painted version of the Sparco Air Pro RF-5W. This retro inspired helmet has a white base with blue or red stripes beneath a durable clear coat finish. The Sparco Air Pro RF-5W 1977 features a carbon-kevlar and fiberglass construction with a wider eye opening that can be used for open wheel or closed cockpit driving. Multiple exterior vents increase air circulation throughout a redesigned interior. This interior has channels that cool the driver, plus additional channels routing air towards the visor to reduce the chance of visor fogging.
The Sparco Air Pro RF-5W 1977 has removable, washable padding that can be repositioned for a comfortably personalized fit. All interior seams have been removed from areas where greater pressure is exerted on the head. The Air Pro RF-5W 1977 has been designed to accommodate a drink tube and an intercom system (both sold separately).

Today's Sparco auto racing helmet line is the result of over 40 years of research and development experience, including wind tunnel testing. The new range was designed to meet the requirements of both Snell SA2020 and FIA 8859-2015 ratings. To meet these requirements Sparco introduced new innovations for driver safety and comfort. All auto racing shells now have layers of Carbon-Kevlar for greater strength. Sparco helmets have been wind-tunnel tested to maximize exterior vent placement and air flow. The EPS interiors and padding have also been redesigned for increased air flow and driver comfort. Sparco also introduced a new size: Medium/Large.
